Food & Beverage Management Trainee/Intern

Eastward Ho! Country Club is looking for a Food & Beverage Management Trainee/Intern to assist the Food & Beverage Manager, Restaurant Manager, and the Dining Room Captain in overseeing all Food & Beverage operations at Eastward Ho!: a la carte dining, banquet events, member functions, self-serve snack bar, etc.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Take beverage orders and serve food in specified station.
  • Clean all assigned work areas in kitchen and banquet areas.
  • Performs daily opening and closing sidework duties as assigned by management.
  • Maintains cleanliness and inventory of Halfway Ho! Cart (snack bar).
  • Advise supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur.
  • Assure that all state and local laws and club policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
  • Thank members and guests; invites them to return.
  • Consistently follow all sanitation-related requirements, including those related to personal hygiene.
  • Work with Restaurant Manager to schedule and coordinate personnel requirements for dinner service.
  • Develop detailed plans for events.
  • Act as expeditor or host/hostess during a la carte dinner service for Members
  • Regularly inspect all front- and back-of-the-house service areas and equipment to assure that sanitation, safety, energy management, preventive maintenance and other standards for the department are met.
  • Assure the neatness, cleanliness and safety of all front of house areas.
  • Participate in scheduled staff and management meetings.
  • Assume closing manager or manager on duty responsibilities when assigned.
  • Perform assigned duties in Club offices, answering phones in absence of Administrative Assistant
  • Create advertising materials including flyers, website banners, etc.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Track new products and trends in food service and catering applicable to the club.
