Founded in 1922, Eastward Ho! Country Club today offers some of the most exceptional facilities, services and golfing conditions in our industry. Perched along a mile of pristine shoreline in one of the most spectacular natural settings in the country; the Club overlooks idyllic Pleasant Bay and the vast Atlantic Ocean beyond in the exclusive resort village of Chatham, Massachusetts (Cape Cod). Herbert Fowler designed golf course as well as from our rambling, multi-level 30,000 square foot "Cape style" Clubhouse, our 800 Member families and their guests enjoy an unparalleled service and golf experience. Our Clubhouse is open seasonally from April through December and features a formal Dining Room (150), casual Grille Room (120), Lounge (60), two private party rooms (80 and 150), and multiple outdoor dining venues. The primary responsibility of housemen at Eastward Ho! include daily setup of all dining rooms and function space. Additional responsibilities include daily opening/maintenance of Halfway Ho! Cart (Snack Bar) and morning refreshments, simple maintenance of Club's furniture and equipment, launder Club's linen and maintain organization and inventory of dry good storage area.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and refresh coffee every morning for member consumption on the Coffee Cart
  • Open the Halfway Ho! Cart according to proper opening procedures, and maintain Halfway Ho! Cart (Snack Bar) daily during operation
  • Stock the Club Bar's soda cans up to par
  • Assist Housekeeping Department with daily Clubhouse cleaning as needed
  • Polish furniture and brass stair railings
  • Refill bottled water and ice on golf course and maintain cleanliness of coolers daily
  • Clean and maintain stock in bathrooms on golf course as needed
  • Daily setup of dining rooms and function spaces as needed with tables and chairs according to floor plans
  • Maintain organized storage space in Clubhouse
  • Perform duties related to event setup such as polishing silverware and glassware, folding napkins, steaming tablecloths, etc.
  • Launder all kitchen and locker room towels, restaurant linen and kitchen/Steward uniform daily and ensuring sufficient supplies on hand for daily business
  • Clean and organize dry goods supplies upon delivery and maintain proper inventory
  • Clean and setup Terrace and North Lawn area daily as needed
  • Assist the Flower Committee in setting up and breaking down tables as needed
  • Setup yoga session in season and record attendance
  • Alert Manager of all maintenance related issues
  • Performs other duties as instructed by the Food & Beverage Manager

 Non-Essential Functions:

  • Performs general repairs including plumbing, and painting as needed
  • Assist members with coats and to and from their vehicle if necessary via the courtesy cart.
  • Trash removal in Clubhouse area
  • Refill firewood during shoulder season


Must be able to lift and carry up to 75lbs. Must be reliable, courteous, professional, and a "team player".
