Seasonal Communications Assistant/Hostess

The Seasonal Communications Assistant at Eastward Ho! Country Club is responsible for providing administrative support to the General Manager, Communications Coordinator, Food & Beverage Manager and other members of the staff. Some hostessing in the restaurant is required.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides administrative support to the Communications Coordinator
  • Prepares flyers and special event menus
  • Answers main telephone line and forwards calls accordingly
  • Receives and screens visitors
  • Communicates all Member inquiries/requests to appropriate department(s)
  • Takes telephone reservations for lunch, dinner and special Club events
  • Oversees online reservation system with respect to dining room/kitchen capacity
  • Updates dinner and lunch menus as directed by Executive Chef and/or Restaurant Manager
  • Creates and updates floor plans
  • Communicates with kitchen, hostesses, wait staff and others with regard to reservations, etc. in order to ensure seamless execution of events
  • Assists with hostess duties when needed
  • Performs general office work such as filing, copying and mailing
  • Performs other duties as required by the Food & Beverage Manager and General Manager


Applicants should have at least a High School Diploma and two years of general office experience, proper English usage to include spelling, punctuation and grammar, knowledge of basic office procedures, methods and equipment, basic computer skills, basic knowledge of the use of spreadsheets and basic graphic design skills. Exceptional customer service skills are required for this position.
